Embed the multilingual reader

The reader can be displayed as a standalone website or inside a page on the official UnityBC website. The embedded presentation keeps the language choices, documents, notes and playback controls.

Copy your selected reader

Choose a document and language, then use Embed beside the language choices. The code preserves the selected section, passage, listening language, display, speed, Focus view and segment pacing. It excludes notes and questionnaire answers. Include both the iframe and its resize script.

English and the plain language summary are the defaults. For Bengali participant information, use /bn-pis.html?embed=1; Urdu is /ur-pis.html?embed=1, Gujarati /gu-pis.html?embed=1 and Czech /cs-pis.html?embed=1.

Website configuration

The hosting headers permit embedding by https://www.ceu.ox.ac.uk and by the companion’s demonstration origins. Your website administrator must also permit this reader’s origin in the parent website’s iframe policy. We have not installed an iframe in the Oxford website.

The resize helper is required to avoid scrolling inside the iframe. It measures the full reader content and updates after document, language, section, window size or Focus view changes. Follow reading scrolls the surrounding page. Messages are checked against the exact iframe window and origin; notes are never transmitted. The parent website must allow the helper script. New parent origins must be added explicitly to both the hosting headers and message allowlist. If your content system blocks scripts, use the full-page reader link.

The demonstration remains labelled as awaiting language review when embedded. Do not remove that notice for participant use until the content and recordings have been approved.
